Project: DIY No-Carve Disco Ball Pumpkins
The Vibe
Move over, scary jack-o’-lanterns. This project is for the modern host who wants Halloween to feel like a party, not a haunted house. It reflects light beautifully, creating a magical atmosphere for evening cocktail parties.
Materials Needed
- Faux pumpkins (white or painted in pastel pink/sage green for extra whimsy).
- Self-adhesive square mirror mosaic tiles (available at craft stores or online).
- Silver or gold acrylic paint (for the stem).
- Hot glue gun (optional, for extra hold).
The Process
- Prep the Pumpkin: Clean the surface of your faux pumpkin. If you want a specific color base (like a soft blush pink or matte black), spray paint it first and let it dry completely.
- Paint the Stem: Paint the pumpkin stem in metallic silver or gold to match the high-glam aesthetic.
- Apply the Tiles: Starting from the top near the stem, begin sticking the mirror tiles in concentric circles.
- Work Downwards: Continue applying tiles down the sides. Because pumpkins are round and tiles are square, you may need to space them slightly loosely as you get to the wider middle section to keep the lines straight.
The Glow Up
Place these on your tablescape surrounded by tea lights. The mirror tiles will catch the flicker of the flames and cast “disco sparkles” all over the room.
